Kopi-times.com | Medan – Chairman of the committee Dies Natalis 27th Anniversary Mahatala Nommensen, Nelly K Siregar accompanied by Chairman of the Mahatala Daily Executive Jefri Sinaga said that the Environment seminar was an annual agenda of Mahatala Nommensen’s activities.
It’s talking about Lake Toba tours with the aim of building awareness of the younger generation in rehabilitating the environment and tourism of Lake Toba. With the seminar being held, it is expected that more students will care about the environment.
“At present the students must be more sensitive to the conditions of the surrounding environment. Through this seminar, we hope for the growing awareness of the young generation, especially students, will take care of the environment. Our hope is the awakening of youth to love the environment,” said Nelly K Siregar.
In the moment Dies Natalis 27th Anniversary, Mahatala Nommensen conducted a series of events, among others. Photographic Contest about the local wisdom of Lake Toba, Environmental Seminar, Greening or planting trees on the outskirts of Lake Toba Samosir and the peak event is Bouldering (wall climbing competition championship) which will be held on 31 July.
We have done reforestation on 12-13 July, as Community Service in the form of reforestation or planting of seeds of Durian, Coffee, African Wood and Mahogany in Hariara Pohan Village, Harian District, Samosir Regency.
We also thank all those who participated, namely the Headmen (Piatur Sihotang) and the Society of Hariara Pohan Village (Piatur Sihotang), the District Head (Roberton Manik), Samosir Regent (Juang Sinaga), BPDASHL Asahan Barumun P. Siantar, AURI and Biro General Administration University of HKBP Nommensen and HIMAS (Samosir Student Association).
We hope that this activity will be beneficial for the community around Lake Toba (Beautiful Country Pieces of Heaven) in the efforts of sustainable Lake Toba and more enchanting tourism.
